I welcome all participants and visitors alike, to this historic event of Sarawak Regatta. On behalf of my Ministry, I wish all visitors for a fun and enjoyable stay. To add value of your stay, I would also like to invite visitors to explore the tourist attractions in and around Kuching.

Sarawak Regatta has indeed posses an interesting history dated back as early as in 1872 during the Brooke’s ruling era where Sarawak River was marked as the main gateway into Kuching, for trading of essential goods, communication and protection from potential enemies. On a mission to win

 
Landas Mukah team training for the Sarawak Regatta to be held from Sept 14-16 at Sarawak River yesterday. Organised by the Kuching Resident's Office, the annual event dates as far back as 1872 during the Brooke era when Sarawak River was the main gateway into Kuching. The Sarawak Regatta is a showcase of boat races that draws teams from various government departments and agencies, the private sector and neighbouring countries to compete against one another for the coveted trophy and prestigious titles in the various categories.

Selain acara utama, ia juga akan merangkumi pelbagai aktiviti seperti pameran dan lain-lain.

Kuching: Jawatankuasa penganjur Regatta Sarawak merancang menganjurkan acara sukan air berprestij negeri itu pada skala yang lebih besar pada tahun depan.

Several roads to be closed for regatta do

KUCHING: Several roads here will be closed during the 'Sarawak Regatta and Science and Innovation Carnival 2012' from Sept 14 to 16.

There are also eight parking places allocated for members of the public to park their cars during the three day event.

The roads due for closure are Jalan Market/Jalan Gambier/Jalan Power from 6am to midnight, Jalan Khoo Hun Yeang (BP Sentral) Read More »


DBKU confident of a bigger splash at Sarawak Regatta

KUCHING: The highly fancied Kuching City North Commission (DBKU) rowing team participating in the coming 2012 Sarawak Regatta are brimming with confidence of capturing some titles at the much awaited event held on Sept 14-16 at the Kuching Waterfront.

The team in currently on its last phase of centralised training with its paddlers undergoing runs in their boats at the Sarawak River.

According to DBKU coach Johnny Ibrahim, the team started their centralised training a week after the recent Hari Raya Celebration.

They have also trained before the fasting month. “I am very satisfied with all my paddlers. They are committed and I think that we can emerge champions this year,” he said. Read More »
